After 39 and a half years of loyal service to State Farm Insurance and Financial Services, I have decided to retire effective December 31, 2025. This was a difficult decision because of my long-term relationships with customers and colleagues. However, an ever growing “Bucket List” dictates that now is the time to start other adventures!
I wish to thank my customers who have entrusted me with their care and allowed me to attend band competitions, weddings, car shows, fashion extravaganzas, jazz events, casino nights, brunches, and even funerals. I have been blessed with insuring policyholders who were older and younger than me. Thus, my “book of business” is comprised of peers as well as their children and grandchildren. The interactions of explaining policy coverages while also participating in customer’s major life events will always house warm memories for me. State Farm claim partners, underwriters, and my team have helped during good times and during tragedies. It has truly been an honor to “help life go right” ® whenever we were needed.
I want to also thank the numerous State Farm employees and members of the realty, automobile, home builders, restoration, and glass industries who’ve assisted our customers and made referrals to me consistently for almost forty years.
Acting as an independent contractor / agency owner for State Farm allowed me the freedom to donate abundant time to Business & Professional Women (where I was voted as Most Outstanding Committee Chairman and featured in a book titled Women Who Made a Difference), Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. (where I received the Far Western Region Unique Professional Award) and the National Association of Insurance. State Farm was founded in 1922 on acting as “good neighbors” in our communities and I’m proud that we still uphold those values today. The list of organizational affiliations is too long to restate, but I wish to express heartfelt gratitude to all who helped toward my nomination to “Pride of the Zone” within State Farm. Without your support of our group marketing initiatives and hours stuffing gift bags and posting State Farm flags at events, I would not have been recognized. State Farm employees, organization associates, and friends were also instrumental in helping me spearhead creation of a law in Arizona.
I’ve been happily married to Herb Bourdeaux for many years, and he already retired from a long career with his company. We’re grateful to enter this phase of life where we can experience “everyday as Saturday”. It’s time for me to pass the baton to the next generation of agents who will keep State Farm strong.
